Olfactive Family : Woody

Harvester : Xoso

Harvested part : Wood

Main application : Diffusion

Essential oil of Black Oud (Aetoxylon Sympetalum) is a variety close to agarwood which is part of the Ouds family. It is sourced in Indonesia, on the island of Borneo. Wood and its oil have been used for centuries to treat emotional, nervous and psychological problems, thanks to its ability to induce a deep meditative state. In addition, it is useful to fight insomnia and is widely recognized for its aphrodisiac properties.

Fragrance of character, Black Oud Essential Oil intrigues for its leathery notes. This fragrance intensifies even when distilled into essential oil, while keeping its sweetness, you would almost think you were in the middle of a shoe store.

The Black Oud, or Aetoxylon, is often considered the youngest of the oud family. However, without putting it in competition with its counterparts, one can only marvel at this singular woody note. Instantly very leathery, the trunk still reveals subtle gourmet tones of nuts and toasted caramel. The animalic note that gradually settles in is most elegant, guaranteeing a tenuous balance between the pyrogenic and woody facets.
