Main application : Diffusion

The spirit or alcoholate of Osmanthus (Osmanthus Fragrans Lour) is an extract obtained by cold washing the concrete of osmanthus made from flowers harvested in China. This old method has been brought up to date by our sourcing manager, and allows us to get as close as possible to the original smell of the flower, and to retranscribe its entire olfactory spectrum.

Delicately floral, resolutely fruity, this extract is ideal for creating feminine perfumes with character or simply to enhance your cosmetic creations. But above all, it will surprise you with its irresistible fragrance, between apricot and jasmine.

OLFACTORY DESCRIPTION

Faced with such olfactory generosity, it is difficult to be exhaustive. Osmanthus presents itself with a scathing blast of opulent floral and fruity notes. Heady and complex, the jasmine heart of white flower is surrounded by an apricot facet. Its richness makes this osmanthus a rare example of a “fur” note… A bestial delicacy. Finally, this frantic race is accompanied by leather and smoke to explore the darkness of a most sensual oriental accord.

In food

FEMA Number : 3750

*The FEMA number is an international food safety number. It is essential to be able to use them in food, without it, you are not allowed to consume them. Le Sourceur rejects any responsibility in case of non respect of these rules. Our alcoholates are also very concentrated in alcohol, it seems that they are ideal to use to create syrups, cocktails or any dish to be eaten cold, especially desserts. On the other hand and after many tests, their flash point seems too low to be of any interest in a hot dish, unless you add it after cooking, just before serving. Be careful with their use in the kitchen, too much of them can be dangerous. If in doubt, contact a specialist.

OUR RECIPES

We recommend Osmanthus alcoholate for a small perfumed touch, but use it sparingly or you may have to taste your dish several times before tasting it. Also be careful with its alcohol content, especially for children. However, it should be noted that the alcohol is food grade.

Some ideas of recipes in which to integrate our Spirit of Osmanthus :
• Game – Ideal to give it a fruity note, apricot – to be added after cooking
• Sorbet or Ice Cream – To give a fruity alcoholic taste like amarena cherry
