Ambergris infusion is concocted according to the traditional processes of perfumery. The pieces or blocks of organic matter are used to reduce them to the smallest possible size and to facilitate the infusion in alcohol. The more the amber infuses the more it improves. For its manufacture, we have chosen the most beautiful pieces of our collection in order to obtain a true elixir. When the standards are three to six months of infusion, ours will have taken 9 months to be born.

Infusion of Ambergris is titrated at 5%. It is rather black in color, emphasizing more animal notes than the white often lighter and marine. We make only one manufacture per year, each of them is therefore vintage and unique although we always use the same category of amber.

Le Sourceur's Everlasting Extract (Helichrysum Italicum) is a precious, powerful essence obtained from the distillation waste of this Mediterranean herbaceous plant. This innovative approach, known as upcycling, makes the most of every part of the flower, avoiding waste and extending the life of natural resources. Renowned for its exceptional properties, Immortelle is a real ally for many everyday ailments.

Native to sunny regions such as Corsica, Italy, Montenegro and Greece, immortelle offers us an absolute of exceptional quality. After harvesting and drying the buds, a meticulous extraction process yields this precious essence. Our Everlasting Absolute is a veritable ode to nature, with its bewitching, warm fragrance evoking Mediterranean landscapes. Thanks to this ethical and sustainable approach, we can offer you an environmentally-friendly product, rich in benefits for the skin and well-being. A must-have for the Le Sourceur collection!

Gowe infusion, also known as Cyperus Rotondus, is a unique fragrance from West Africa, particularly Senegal. A veritable nugget of nature, Gowe comes from the same family as Papyrus. It is used primarily for its multiple benefits, particularly in Senegalese culture, where Gowe fumigation is reputed for its aphrodisiac effects and for enhancing memory.

It's also a natural incense appreciated for its bewitching aroma, and a precious ally for banishing unpleasant odors and delicately perfuming your home thanks to its smoky, powdery facets. By placing a drop on a burning coal, you release a rich, warm fragrance that perfumes the home, creating a soothing, intimate atmosphere.

For Le Sourceur, the roasted Gowe roots are immersed in perfume alcohol for a minimum of 6 months. The extract is then filtered to obtain a dark, deliciously leathery infusion.

Hyraceum (Procavia Capensis Excret), better known as the ‘African Stone’, is an extremely rare infusion extracted from the fossilised excrement of the Cape Daman. These small mammals, which live in communities in southern Africa, have the habit of always excreting in the same place. What a smell! So why make an infusion of it? To satisfy the curious, but not only. In perfumery, fetid and animal smells play an essential role in perfume design. Quite simply because they are great fixers, and therefore enhance the other fragrances in your perfumes.

With the exception of ambergris, these materials have virtually disappeared in nature, primarily for the sake of animal welfare, and that's all to the good! Not least because to obtain them, animals had to be excited, tortured or even killed. But the reason why Le Sourceur offers Hyraceum is precisely because it does not disturb the animal in its natural habitat. We simply collect the excrement and infuse it for 6 to 9 months in 95% perfume alcohol.

The result is an explosive combination of smokiness, earthiness and, of course, faecal matter. So watch your nostrils with this animal fragrance, which is, to say the least, reserved for the curious or perhaps the adventurous!
