But why, you may ask, has Le Sourceur, a specialist in high-quality essential oils, chosen to venture into the complex world of fine fragrances?
As passionate artisans of essential oils, we have always embodied the essence of purity and quality. However, our relentless pursuit of innovation and creativity has driven us to explore new sensory horizons to offer our customers an even richer and more nuanced olfactory experience.

This led to the collaboration with Parfumeurs du Monde, enthusiasts who share our vision of the art of perfumery. This union marks a natural evolution for Le Sourceur, opening a new chapter in our history. Parfumeurs du Monde brings its unique expertise and bold creativity, perfectly complementing our know-how in the field of essential oils.

Ambergris infusion is concocted according to the traditional processes of perfumery. The pieces or blocks of organic matter are used to reduce them to the smallest possible size and to facilitate the infusion in alcohol. The more the amber infuses the more it improves. For its manufacture, we have chosen the most beautiful pieces of our collection in order to obtain a true elixir. When the standards are three to six months of infusion, ours will have taken 9 months to be born.

Infusion of Ambergris is titrated at 5%. It is rather black in color, emphasizing more animal notes than the white often lighter and marine. We make only one manufacture per year, each of them is therefore vintage and unique although we always use the same category of amber.

Essential oil of Bergamot is obtained through an ancient extraction process. It consists of splitting the fruit and then pressing the zest onto a sponge stored on top of a jar. A magnificent know-how whose result promises a sparkling essential oil ; delicately lemony and resolutely tangy.

Of ancient origin, Bergamot is a citrus fruit that comes mainly from the province of Reggio Calabria in Italy, more precisely along the Ionian coast. A kind of large lemon with a much more penetrating aroma, it is the basis of many perfumes and cosmetics. In the food industry, it is used in particular to flavor Earl Grey tea. It’s also the only citrus fruit that is not consumed directly.

Bergamot essential oil is an excellent fixative in perfumery. It is used in particular during the constitution of bouquets to bind together the fragrances of the various flowers. Bergamot is finally at the origin of the creation of “aqua admirabilis” recognized as the first cologne.

Black Oud essential oil (Aetoxylon Sympetalum) is sourced in Indonesia, specifically on the island of Borneo. It is obtained by steam distillation of Aetoxylon wood. This wood comes from a variety of tree similar to Agarwood, which is part of the Oud family. This fragrance with character intrigues with its leathery notes. This scent intensifies when the material is distilled into essential oil, while retaining its sweetness, almost as if you were in the middle of a shop selling new shoes.

Traditionally, Black Oud essential oil is useful for treating emotional, nervous and psychological problems. It has the ability to induce a deep meditative state. It is also widely recognised for its aphrodisiac properties and for combating insomnia. An oriental ‘Peace & Love’!

The Darjeeling Black Tea (Camellia Sinensis) from Le Sourceur is a true gem of nature. All the more so when you consider that the extract was not originally intended to be used. It is the result of cutting-edge processing methods, the first of which was not intended for this purpose at all. The starting point is the decaffeination of the tea leaves using a gentle extraction process carried out with supercritical CO2, with the aim, as the method suggests, of producing decaffeinated tea. During this process, a by-product is obtained, a tea wax that is usually simply discarded. It is specifically this extract that caught our attention in our desire to recycle waste.

This wax is then optimised using the absolute method, which captures all the olfactory molecules of the pure, natural essence of Darjeeling tea. A way of creating beauty while avoiding waste and extending the life of natural resources.

The tea used by Le Sourceur gives this absolute a soft and delicate herbaceous fragrance, evoking freshness and serenity, with a slightly tart top note reminiscent of rhubarb, gradually giving way to a delicious tea scent.

Blue Ginger Essential Oil (Zingiber Officinale) is obtained by steam distillation of its fresh hizomes. Cultivated in the natural reserve of Vohimana in Madagascar, blue ginger is renowned for its strength of character and grows in the rich soils of this island with a unique biodiversity.

Lemony to perfection, it is remarkable for its floral notes of rose. At once aphrodisiac, digestive and healing, its essential oil is ideal for toning up your days. To be used in perfumery, aromatherapy, cooking or olfactotherapy for its multiple medicinal, olfactory or gustatory properties.

Geranium Bourbon or Pelargonium Graveolens essential oil was introduced to Reunion Island in 1870, then to Madagascar. The variety that grows on the island's high plateaus is known for its abundance of flowers. Its scent is somewhere between rosy and fruity. The extract is distilled on site using steam distillation, resulting in a 100% pure and natural essential oil.

Geranium Bourbon essential oil is renowned for its countless virtues. It is primarily considered a mild anti-infective (antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal). It also has tonic properties that promote blood circulation. It is also anti-inflammatory and stimulating. It is an essential ingredient in the various disciplines of perfumery, aromatherapy, and olfactotherapy.

Bushman Candle Oleoresin (Sarcocaulon Mossamedense) is unique. You will only find it in Namibia, more precisely in the Kaokoland desert where only the Himbas tribes are allowed to source it. Its fragrance is as amazing as captivating, and it will charm you with its benzoin and vanilla notes. A little marvel that goes perfectly with an oriental accord.

In its natural state, it is found as a glowing wax. It protects the Sarcocaulon from the extreme heat of the Namibian summer. The Himbas then harvest it by hand directly from the thorny shrub and sometimes from its base. It is an integral part of the daily life of the tribe who use it as a torch, spice for oryx meat and insect repellent.

Bushman Candle’s oleoresin is rich in coumarin. It would have a positive impact on blood and lymphatic drainage. This results in a nervous and muscular appeasement. Natural moisturizer, it is used in Southern Africa for its regenerating properties.

As its name suggests, Cape Chamomile Essential Oil, or eriocephalus punctulatus, is native to South Africa. It is obtained by hydrodistillation of the flowering tops of the plant that the few local producers collect by hand. A rare and fascinating fact, its color is a magnificent Royal Blue that almost makes you want to dive in.

Essential Oil of Cape Chamomile has a reassuring quality that makes sense when smelled, with its sweet, fruity or floral fragrance. It reminds us of the most beautiful smells of our childhood, from harlequin candy to ripe apple. Comforting and relaxing at the same time, we constantly want to return to it. Alcoholate of Carnation is an extract obtained by cold washing of the concrete of the carnation flower harvested in India. This old method has been brought up to date by our sourcing manager, and allows us to get as close as possible to the original smell of the plant, and to retranscribe its entire olfactory spectrum. It is derived from the common carnation or wallflower whose scientific name is Dianthus Caryophyllus.

A full floral fragrance with spicy notes close to Clove, Carnation Alcoholate is ideal for creating perfumes with character or simply to enhance your cosmetic creations. But above all it will surprise you with its irresistible powdery and hypnotic fragrance.

The essential oil of Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea) is a natural solution for many daily problems, especially for women. Due to its “estrogen-like” activity, it relieves painful periods while effectively regulating menstrual cycles. But not only… It also helps to fight against hot flashes, vaginal dryness and low libido. A great oil in that its action mimics the female hormones, namely estrogen.

In short, a must-have that was missing from the Sourceur collection and that we chose to source in our beautiful French region on the border between the Alpes de Haute Provence and the Vaucluse thanks to the work of the excellent producer Cassan. Coffee Ultrasound (Coffea Arabica) is a remarkable innovation in the world of natural extracts. The method maximises the absolute by extracting the previously impenetrable olfactory molecules from the raw material. Extraction is carried out at low temperatures to ensure that the coffee bean is treated with the utmost care. The result is stunning, symbolising the duality of Arabica coffee, where strength meets sweetness.

With notes that are both roasted and indulgent, the fragrance of ultrasound is reminiscent of freshly ground coffee. Just close your eyes and imagine yourself at the roaster's. The material is treated with the utmost respect. This is a precious olfactory discovery that is undoubtedly one of our finest finds in recent years. The Essential Oil of Copal Santo (Bursera Copallifera) is extracted from the resin of a Palo Santo native from Mexico. Its harvest is very original since the white resin is recovered in large leaves of agaves which are attached under the part of the tree that we come to incise. A product as rare as it is precious, part of what we call the resinous notes. More precisely, its fragrance is terpenic and aromatic, like a subtle olfactory mix between pine needles and sap that sometimes stick to the fingers. At first it annoys, before becoming a comforting smell that we like to keep.

Copal Santo is a bit of all this at the same time, an exceptional essential oil that we never tire of breathing several times a day in a diffuser or on a wet wipe and that accompanies us at every moment to fight against our fears and our daily worries.

Essential oil of Portuguese Cypress (Cupressus Lusitanica) Le Sourceur is 100% pure and natural. It is obtained by steam distillation of the leafy branches of the tree cultivated in Madagascar by the association Coeur de Forêt. Original and surprising, its fragrance is very different from classic cypress. With an unequalled power, it is at the same time citrusy, aromatic and woody. Fabulous notes that bring a green and fruity effect in perfumed creations or simply in diffusion. Not to be missed under any circumstances.

In addition, Portuguese Cypress Essential Oil will be a great ally in everyday life. Rich in monoterpenes, it has many properties : antiseptic, antiviral and sedative.

The essential oil of Damiana (Turnera Diffusa) is derived from the flower and leaf of Damiana native to Mexico. It is then obtained by steam distillation. Its fragrance is singular in every way. Fresh and aromatic, it is somewhere between ripe fruit and mate. A note as interesting as powerful that we advise to feel with delicacy by using a support such as a wick.

The essential oil of Eucalyptus Staigeriana is 100% pure and natural. Sourced in Australia, it is endemic to the Cape York Peninsula on the north-eastern tip of the country. It is obtained by steam distillation of the leafy branches of the tree. Like other species of Eucalyptus, such as radiata or globulus, its essential oil is resolutely fresh and aromatic. Its particularity comes especially from its notes at the same time lemony and basil. A fabulous fragrance to use as a top note in floral or aromatic accords. The essential oil of Field Mint (Mentha Arvensis) is native to Nepal. It is obtained by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of the plant cultivated around the National Park of Bardia.

Its fragrance gives off fresh aromatic notes, both minty and herbaceous. In perfumery, it is mainly used as an accessory to bring freshness to a top set, especially on green and fruity creations.

In olfaction, it helps to keep a cool head in all circumstances while promoting concentration. A breath of fresh air that wish you good things, using it with moderation. The essential oil of Corn Mint would also have many properties. Tonic, nervous stimulant and anti-migraine, at low dose once again, it supports digestion while being formidable to decongest the mucous membrane. A refreshing must-have.

Fine Lavender Ultrasound (Lavandula Angustifolia) is a powerful, unrivalled aromatic extract that draws from the very depths of the matter to transport you to the middle of a Provençal lavender field. Fire Tree infusion (Xanthorrhoea Preissii) is made from the resin of an iconic tree in south-western Australia, commonly known as the Balga. This plant symbolises fertility and renewal in Aboriginal culture and owes its reputation to its remarkable resistance to fire. During Australian bushfires, the plant secretes resin in abundance. This resin spreads around the tree trunk in the form of what are known as claws. These protect the heart of the Fire Tree and, by extension, the animals that come to seek refuge there. This ability allows the tree to recover very quickly and even promotes flowering.

Beyond this extraordinary phenomenon, there is a second miracle for scent enthusiasts like us. Not only does the fire protect the Fire Tree, it also transforms the scent of its resin to create a perfume in its own right.
