Son profil olfactif singulier séduit immédiatement : une fragrance à la fois florale et subtilement épicée, relevée par des nuances de gingembre et des accents d’écorces d’agrumes. Au-delà de son usage en parfumerie, le Longoze occupe une place importante dans la médecine traditionnelle malgache. Ses fleurs sont utilisées depuis des générations pour le nettoyage des plaies, mais aussi dans des rituels spirituels visant à stimuler et « réveiller » l’énergie.

Our Upcycling Sandalwood Absolute (Santalum Album) is a precious and unique extract, the result of years of experimentation to obtain something new from something old. In the beginning, nothing too trivial: Sandalwood Album grown in Australia is transformed into essential oil by hydrodistillation. At the end of the process, the dry wood is usually used as fuel. But not this time. As part of our drive to recycle waste, and because it seems obvious that the material has some deep-seated secrets, we wanted to dig a little deeper.

So we collected this dry waste and proposed this somewhat crazy project to our extraction partners. We finally succeeded thanks to a sophisticated method that uses natural citroflex as a solvent and captures the last olfactory notes of white sandalwood, offering a unique, original, and particularly aromatic absolute. Upcycling not only reduces waste, it gives materials a second life, while respecting our commitment to the environment and sustainability.

Sandalwood Absolute Upcycling differs from Sandalwood Album essential oil in its more woody, toasty notes, deliciously reminiscent of burnt caramel. A pure olfactory gem that we recommend with our eyes closed.

Fire Tree infusion (Xanthorrhoea Preissii) is made from the resin of an iconic tree in south-western Australia, commonly known as the Balga. This plant symbolises fertility and renewal in Aboriginal culture and owes its reputation to its remarkable resistance to fire. During Australian bushfires, the plant secretes resin in abundance. This resin spreads around the tree trunk in the form of what are known as claws. These protect the heart of the Fire Tree and, by extension, the animals that come to seek refuge there. This ability allows the tree to recover very quickly and even promotes flowering.

Beyond this extraordinary phenomenon, there is a second miracle for scent enthusiasts like us. Not only does the fire protect the Fire Tree, it also transforms the scent of its resin to create a perfume in its own right. These claws give off a magnificent, unique fragrance, somewhere between woody and smoky with delicate balsamic notes. Gowe infusion, also known as Cyperus Rotondus, is a unique fragrance from West Africa, particularly Senegal. A veritable nugget of nature, Gowe comes from the same family as Papyrus. It is used primarily for its multiple benefits, particularly in Senegalese culture, where Gowe fumigation is reputed for its aphrodisiac effects and for enhancing memory.

It's also a natural incense appreciated for its bewitching aroma, and a precious ally for banishing unpleasant odors and delicately perfuming your home thanks to its smoky, powdery facets. By placing a drop on a burning coal, you release a rich, warm fragrance that perfumes the home, creating a soothing, intimate atmosphere.

For Le Sourceur, the roasted Gowe roots are immersed in perfume alcohol for a minimum of 6 months. The extract is then filtered to obtain a dark, deliciously leathery infusion.
