New arrivals: Infusions, Ultrasounds and Upcycling!
Gowe infusion, also known as Cyperus Rotondus, is a unique fragrance from West Africa, particularly Senegal. A veritable nugget of nature, Gowe comes from the same family as Papyrus. It is used primarily for its multiple benefits, particularly in Senegalese culture, where Gowe fumigation is reputed for its aphrodisiac effects and for enhancing memory.
It’s also a natural incense appreciated for its bewitching aroma, and a precious ally for banishing unpleasant odors and delicately perfuming your home thanks to its smoky, powdery facets. By placing a drop on a burning coal, you release a rich, warm fragrance that perfumes the home, creating a soothing, intimate atmosphere.
For Le Sourceur, the roasted Gowe roots are immersed in perfume alcohol for a minimum of 6 months. The extract is then filtered to obtain a dark, deliciously leathery infusion.
The infusion of Gowe gives off bewitching wisps of fire. Combining smokiness and powderiness, its trajectory is unmistakably woody, with earthy and spicy facets. This note burns fiercely from the start of evaporation, with the potential to irradiate any top accord. Yet its intensity gently gives way to a subtle, discreet ashen breath.
Top, Heart
A singular top note, ideal for creating a pyrogenic effect. At the top of a woody scent (Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli), or an oriental scent (Vanilla, Cocoa, Tonka).
Gowe infusion is a natural incense prized for its beneficial effects in olfactotherapy. Its warm, dark fragrance, reminiscent of agarwood and vetiver root, promotes relaxation and tranquillity. By diffusing its scent, it purifies the respiratory tract, soothes headaches and helps muscles relax, creating a serene, soothing atmosphere.
Traditionally used in Senegal, Gowé is also renowned for its aphrodisiac effects and for enhancing memory. Its captivating aroma and balancing properties contribute to emotional and mental well-being, bringing calm and inner stability.
