Essential oil of Bergamot is obtained through an ancient extraction process. It consists of splitting the fruit and then pressing the zest onto a sponge stored on top of a jar. A magnificent know-how whose result promises a sparkling essential oil ; delicately lemony and resolutely tangy. Of ancient origin, Bergamot is a citrus fruit that comes mainly from the province of Reggio Calabria in Italy, more precisely along the Ionian coast. A kind of large lemon with a much more penetrating aroma, it is the basis of many perfumes and cosmetics. In the food industry, it is used in particular to flavor Earl Grey tea. It’s also the only citrus fruit that is not consumed directly. Bergamot essential oil is an excellent fixative in perfumery. It is used in particular during the constitution of bouquets to bind together the fragrances of the various flowers. Bergamot is finally at the origin of the creation of “aqua admirabilis” recognized as the first cologne....
