Bushman Candle Oleoresin (Sarcocaulon Mossamedense) is unique. You will only find it in Namibia, more precisely in the Kaokoland desert where only the Himbas tribes are allowed to source it. Its fragrance is as amazing as captivating, and it will charm you with its benzoin and vanilla notes. A little marvel that goes perfectly with an oriental accord.

In its natural state, it is found as a glowing wax. It protects the Sarcocaulon from the extreme heat of the Namibian summer. The Himbas then harvest it by hand directly from the thorny shrub and sometimes from its base. It is an integral part of the daily life of the tribe who use it as a torch, spice for oryx meat and insect repellent.

Bushman Candle’s oleoresin is rich in coumarin. It would have a positive impact on blood and lymphatic drainage. This results in a nervous and muscular appeasement. Natural moisturizer, it is used in Southern Africa for its regenerating properties.

The Essential Oil of Copal Santo (Bursera Copallifera) is extracted from the resin of a Palo Santo native from Mexico. Its harvest is very original since the white resin is recovered in large leaves of agaves which are attached under the part of the tree that we come to incise. A product as rare as it is precious, part of what we call the resinous notes. More precisely, its fragrance is terpenic and aromatic, like a subtle olfactory mix between pine needles and sap that sometimes stick to the fingers. At first it annoys, before becoming a comforting smell that we like to keep.

Copal Santo is a bit of all this at the same time, an exceptional essential oil that we never tire of breathing several times a day in a diffuser or on a wet wipe and that accompanies us at every moment to fight against our fears and our daily worries.

Fire Tree infusion (Xanthorrhoea Preissii) is made from the resin of an iconic tree in south-western Australia, commonly known as the Balga. This plant symbolises fertility and renewal in Aboriginal culture and owes its reputation to its remarkable resistance to fire. During Australian bushfires, the plant secretes resin in abundance. This resin spreads around the tree trunk in the form of what are known as claws. These protect the heart of the Fire Tree and, by extension, the animals that come to seek refuge there. This ability allows the tree to recover very quickly and even promotes flowering.

Beyond this extraordinary phenomenon, there is a second miracle for scent enthusiasts like us. Not only does the fire protect the Fire Tree, it also transforms the scent of its resin to create a perfume in its own right. These claws give off a magnificent, unique fragrance, somewhere between woody and smoky with delicate balsamic notes. An astonishing material that testifies to the power of nature and the evolution of scents in their environment. A marvel to be discovered exclusively at Le Sourceur.

Namibian Myrrh (Commiphora Wildii) is a raw material cultivated by the Himba tribe in the Kunene region, in the northwest of Namibia. It is harvested in the form of resin that oozes directly from the tree and collected by hand by the women of the community. Namibian Myrrh Essential Oil is then obtained by steam distillation of this resin to release a turpentine-like fragrance, with warm, balsamic notes, sometimes aniseed, sometimes tenacious, reminiscent of oak barrels.

The essential oil of Namibian Myrrh is an excellent natural regenerant, used in this sense for centuries by the women of the Himba tribe who apply it, mixed with powdered hematite and the milk of their cattle to protect and hydrate their skin.

Tolu balsam (Myroxylon balsamum) ultrasonic extract is a treasure straight from South America, particularly the lush forests of Colombia. Often confused with Peru balsam, it is extracted from the living trunks of the Myroxylon balsamum var. toluiferum tree. Initially, it takes the form of a brownish, sticky, semi-fluid mass, which gradually hardens on contact with air to become solid and brittle. When heated, it becomes malleable again, revealing its full aromatic richness.

Tolu balsam is particularly prized in perfumery for its warm, sweet and slightly spicy scent. A must-have that was missing from Le Sourceur's collection, we have chosen to offer you this Ultrason for its unique properties and captivating aroma.
