Essential oil of Palo Santo that we propose is issued from the harvest of the fruit, which allows to keep the trees alive and to assure a perenniality of the biodiversity of this region of South America. The picking is done by hand to avoid damaging the trees, it is a traditional wild harvest on mature trees. The fruits are then steam distilled to obtain a pure mystical essential oil with citric and minty accents.

Palo Santo, literally meaning “sacred wood”, is cultivated by several producers who are members of traditional communities in the region of Sozoranga in the province of Loja in Ecuador. They reside in the Podocarpus forest reserves, recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.

In addition to being an excellent anti-inflammatory, Palo Santo Essential Oil is used for shamanic practices for several centuries but also as a natural insecticide, it is the protector of the crops and purifies the places of life or the individuals during rites.

OLFACTORY DESCRIPTION

Fierce and indomitable, Palo Santo fruit essence presents itself to the nose in a complex assortment of aromatic, woody, floral, fruity and slightly watery notes. First and foremost, a green, pungent effect takes hold, marking the powerful generosity of the fragrance. Refining as evaporation continues, the whole becomes softer, reminiscent of exotic white flowers such as frangipani, but also the fig peel, then its flesh and finally a nourishing plant milk. The final note extends on a wonderful resinous base, close to cedar, and whose vanilla smoothness seems never to fade.

Conservation

Essential oils are sensitive to UV radiation and to the progressive evaporation of their constituents. It is therefore imperative to keep them in a colored glass or aluminum bottle with a tight seal at a temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
