Perfumery
Olfactory description
Also known as Alaskan Cypress, Nootka offers an irresistibly punchy essential oil to the nose. From the outset, the fragrance fills the air with a very identifiable woody and green signature, which one would not be wrong to associate with cedar, although more aromatic and fruity. Its aniseed and resinous accents and many exotic facets make it particularly recognisable. It lasts with great elegance, as its trail becomes more floral and powdery, ensuring long lasting wear on any surface. Its momentum gradually exhausted, it ends its run on a soft, cottony impression, a powdery note of a delicacy that leaves one speechless.

Associations :
In its initial freshness, Nootka essence can be accompanied by zesty notes such as Bergamot or Lemongrass. Aromatic facets also suit it well: try our Cypress or Lavender. It is also very friendly with white flowers such as Jasmine, which embrace it without driving it… Finally, other woods can join it, such as Sandalwood, rich in milky accents.

In food
Nootka essential oil does not currently have a FEMA* number
*The FEMA number is an international food safety number. It is essential to be able to use them in food, without it, you are not allowed to consume them. Le Sourceur rejects any responsibility in case of non respect of these rules. Essential oils are also very concentrated, a single drop is often enough to flavor your cold dishes, when we consider a maximum of 2 to 3 drops on a hot dish. Be careful with their use in cooking, too much of them can be dangerous or even fatal. If in doubt, contact a specialist.
